Crimson Ones

Crimson Ones
"Queen Kate's heart beat faster with excitement as she flew towards the ochre-coloured daisies. She had almost reached them when she was interrupted by Annabelle. 'What's your favourite flower, Queen Kate? Do you like the scarlet salvias, the crimson cosmos, or peachy petunias?' 'The crimson ones!' Queen Kate blurted, without considering her real preference — her mind still on the Most Magnificent Pot of Gold."
Annabelle — so calm, so certain of herself, surrounded by the most beautiful warm tones. Kate barely pauses to answer. I loved the quiet comedy of that moment, and I tried to give Annabelle a stillness that Kate simply doesn't have right now.An original painting from the children’s book The Most Magnificent Pot of Gold. The works are currently on exhibition across three Queensland Galleries - Grasslands Gallery in Tambo, Bushmans Artisan Gallery in Blackall and New Creation Gallery in St George - running from 17 April – 10 October 2026. Purchased paintings will be delivered upon the close of the exhibition in October.
