"Megan sang sweetly as she carried Kate past the garden beds in full bloom. 'Red and ochre and pink and cream, Violet and indigo too, I can see a rainbow, see a rainbow, See a rainbow ... can you?'"

Megan carrying Kate home, singing her a new version of the rainbow song — one where violet and indigo are there too. I painted this as an intimate, close portrait. It is quiet and tender and I love it.

An original painting from the children’s book The Most Magnificent Pot of Gold. The works are currently on exhibition across three Queensland galleries — Grasslands Gallery in Tambo, Bushmans Artisan Gallery in Blackall, and New Creation Gallery in St George — running from 17 April to October 2026, and are available for purchase online and in the galleries. All paintings will be delivered upon the close of the exhibition in October.
