STATEMENT ABOUT ARTWORK :

Children haven't yet learned to look away. They stop, they point, they look up — and somewhere along the way, they remind us to do the same.

Six children stand at the edge of a wide open landscape, backs to us, faces turned toward the sky. But one turns back — as if checking we're watching, as if making sure we haven't missed it.

The tilt of a head, the reach of an arm says everything.

The murmuration above them is stitched by hand into the canvas in thread, rising from the tip of one small outstretched finger. Painted in acrylic and oil pastel, then brought to life with embroidery — a flock with no leader, just many small things moving together until something extraordinary takes shape.

That's what children do. They point at the sky and call things into being that the rest of us had forgotten to see.
