My Story
Where It All Began
It all started in 2001 with a birthday gift — five brushes and five tubes of paint from my husband. I had no plan, and no idea where it would lead. I just loved to create.
What began at our kitchen table quickly took over. I painted every chance I got — early mornings, late nights, weekends. There was something about putting colour on canvas that made the world feel right. Friends and family started asking for pieces, and before long I was selling at local markets and exhibitions.
By 2005, Wentworth Galleries in Sydney had picked up my work. Paintings that had been selling for $500 were suddenly $3,000, and I never looked back.
The Journey
Since then, painting has taken me everywhere. I’ve run art retreats in Portugal and Greece, where students from all over the world come to paint, explore and reconnect with their creativity. Those weeks are some of my favourite — watching someone pick up a brush for the first time and discover they can actually do it.
I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with some incredible brands along the way. Working with fashion designer Karen Gee to create original artwork for her collections, and partnering with Budgy Smuggler on a swimwear range that brought my paintings to the beach — quite literally.
Illustrating children’s books has been one of my most treasured projects. Bringing stories like Turtle Bubbles and The Most Magnificent Pot of Gold to life with colour and character is a special kind of magic. There’s something wonderful about creating art that sparks a child’s imagination.
I’ve also run my own art school, teaching both children and adults, and painted custom commissions for collectors around the world — from family portraits and holiday memories to beloved pets and favourite places.
My Studio Today
Today I work from my studio in Adelaide, surrounded by colour, light and the odd paint-covered coffee cup. It’s my happy place — messy, bright and full of possibility.
My style is joyful, whimsical and full of heart. I paint the moments that make life beautiful — wildflowers in a field, children playing by the sea, the golden light of an Australian summer. I believe art should make you smile every time you walk past it.
